Mask-wearing obligation to handle the expected increase in passenger traffic during the Christmas period as smoothly as possible and to fully comply with the epidemiological rules, Budapest Airport will introduce the following changes in terminal operation.
According to vg.hu, Passenger Hall 2A will be reopened between December 18, 2020, and January 4, 2021, so during this period, check-in desks will operate at both Terminals 2A and 2B. The passenger security check will also take place on both sides, Terminals 2A and 2B.
Passenger Pier 1 will be partially open to passengers arriving from the Schengen area between 18 December and 21 December.
Documentary checks and mandatory body temperature measurements of passengers arriving here will also be carried out here, who can then leave the airport area at the arrival level of Terminal 2A.
The entire transit area of Passenger Pier B, which was previously partially closed, will be operational again from 18 December to 4 January. The hall in front of the passport control gates and the passport management work unchanged; Health screening, registration and entry into Hungary by passengers from non-Schengen countries continue to take place here – and at the arrival level of Terminal 2B.
An official decides on the entry into the country on the spot under the conditions set out in the relevant regulations. The Airport Police Directorate carries out document control and data collection (Repülőtéri Rendőri Igazgatóság- RRI). Due to the detailed questioning and data collection before entering the country, under strict e,ntry rules, document control takes longer than before. Budapest Airport and the Airport Police Directorate ask passengers to
to prepare necessary documents for the smooth running of the entry process, so that the authorities can decide on the quarantine order as soon as possible,
and accordingly, they can issue the exemption or hand over the certificate of the quarantine order.
As Christmas approaches, passenger traffic in December is becoming more rhapsodic, with the number of passengers on each flight fluctuating between 30 and 200. In the case of multiple arrivals, the Budapest Airport terminal’s operating staff will be present on the arrival sight, supporting the smoothest possible border control process. They help manage queues more efficiently, drawing passengers’ attention to distance and mask-wearing.
