The Átrium cinema has always been a part of the artistic marvels of the inner- Buda. After the recent renovation this original cultural spot is determined to present the very best of the contemporary art scene.
From now on Átrium will also be hosting theatrical plays in Hungarian and several other foreign languages. Emerging new artists will carry out contemporary and classic dance performances. However, this original film theater will remain faithful to its traditions – movie screenings will remain a part of the weekly repertoire; aspiring directors from all over the world will get a chance to present their independent film works in Átrium. With some exquisite weekend programs organizers intend to attract young children and their parents.
There is no surprise that the English Theater Foundation is now relocated to the Átrium Cinema and Theater. This booming neighborhood has a lot to offer to the emerging, forward-thinking artists, who work in languages other than Hungarian. The English Theater Foundation will provide plenty of opportunities for those foreigners, who are enthusiastic to reflect the new spirit of art.
Ultimately, homely atmosphere and a modern twist (to an otherwise conventional cinema theater) bring a huge attention to the Átrium. This spring season evolved with a greatest variety of programs: collaborations and fusions. The Átrium Cinema and Theater is a modern, edgier rival to the traditional cinemas, theatres and galleries of the Hungarian capital.
