The Lyrid meteor shower will reach Hungary in the early morning of Monday. That means we may see even 10-12 shooting stars per hour. Prepare for the biggest starfall of the year!
According to Időkép, the first large meteor shower is approaching Hungary. The luckiest could already spot one or two on the night sky earlier this week. The peak of the meteor shower will be on early Monday, so for those getting up in time, all wishes may come true with a dozen shooting stars every hour.
Those who miss the opportunity tomorrow can get a lower-intensity replay with the same experience in the early hours of Tuesday. However, the full moon on Tuesday will make it more difficult to spot all the meteors entering the atmosphere of the Earth.
According to Időkép, we may expect a less cloudy sky in the Northwest, West and Southwest. Therefore, the best options to spot some shooting stars in the next two days are Győr, Sopron, Szombathely, Nagykanizsa, Pécs and the Lake Balaton region.
