The Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) and MAHART, the market-leading passenger shipping company in Hungary, announced that they would relaunch their scheduled passenger ship courses in Budapest.
Turizmus writes that while the scheduled cruises will be available for the long term from the 29th of April,
people can try out the cruises starting on Good Friday all throughout the Easter weekend.
According to the announcement of the Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK), the ships will travel between Nemzeti SzĂnház (National Theatre) and Margit-sziget (Margaret Island) and will stop at the following docks:
VigadĂł tĂ©r – Magyar Tudományos AkadĂ©mia (Hungarian Academy of Sciences) – Margit-sziget (Margaret Island) – Batthyány tĂ©r – the ship takes a turn under PetĹ‘fi-hĂd – VigadĂł tĂ©r

Telex reported that the scheduled passenger ships will travel back and forth on the Danube every day – except on Mondays – from the 29th of April from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. every two hours; the last ship will dock at 21:15 in the Vigadó tér port.
Temporarily, these cruises will be available from Good Friday on April 15th to Easter Monday on April 18th.
The news portal also reported that with the exception of weekends, people with monthly or longer-period seasonal tickets can use the passenger ships without paying any extra fee.
While children under the age of 7 can use the transportation freely, other discounts, such as pensioner or student discounts under the age of 14, cannot be used when purchasing the tickets for the cruise ship.
During weekends and for people without season tickets, the travel costs 1,500 forints (which is around 4 to 5 euros), but you can use this method of travel any number of times within the day when the ticket is valid.
Telex also added that tickets can be purchased in person at the dock at Vigadó tér or on the deck if you board the ship from other stops.
We recommend you try it if you have the time because both the Pest and Buda sides of the Danube banks provide a stunning view from the river itself.
As a side note, be sure to check the weather reports because it is exponentially windier on the river.
Talking of ships, the mainstream international media has reported that the Russian warship, the Moskva has sunk. I am sure that Orbán has already sent a Putin letter of condolence.
