Warsaw, March 13 (MTI) – Polish President Andrzej Duda has congratulated János Áder on his re-election on Monday as Hungary president for another five-year term.

Duda said in a letter that he trusted that he and Áder would continue to work in close cooperation for the benefit of both nations and countries.

Poland will continue to be an important partner of Hungary in the implementation of the two countries’ collective plans, he said.

Duda stated his firm conviction that the “traditional Polish-Hungarian friendship” will further thrive in bilateral ties, in international and regional organisations and on various initiatives.

The two presidents are scheduled to meet on March 24-25 in central Poland’s Piotrkow Trybunalski on the occasion of the 11th Polish-Hungarian friendship day.

Slovak President Andrej Kiska expressed his well wishes to Ader and welcomed that the two countries and presidents would continue on with their friendly dialogue, Slovak news agency TASR reported. Kiska said he was prepared to work with Áder on advancing Slovak-Hungarian ties and in turn, contributing to the region and Europe’s security, stability and prosperity.
