Not enough healthcare workers, 900 people volunteer to help out

There aren't enough healthcare workers in #Hungary, so 900 people volunteer amid #pandemic! #dailynewshungary

The Ministry of Human Resources called for volunteers with some kind of degree in health education in a Facebook post. In just two days, almost 900 people applied, and they are currently being assigned to their posts.

Their assignments include administrative duties and patient care. Five people have been placed in Szent László Hospital, 20 at the National Public Health Centre, and 50 will help out with test results, according to Magyar Nemzet.

Minister Miklós Kásler informed medical students who are in the last year of their studies that they may be asked to complete tasks, such as monitoring infected people and those who are suspected of being infected, as well as tending to people in quarantine, old and/or disabled people, and moderately or critically infected people.

Medical students had until Thursday to sign up for their duty of choice.
