Most people remember the Zara dress controversy at the Miss Universe contest.
The Hungarian contestant, Viktória Jázmin, faced serious backlash for wearing a Zara dress during the stage appearance at the international Miss Universe pageant, Daily News Hungary wrote. She would have originally worn a dress designed by Richard Alexander Atelier, but the designer could not enter the country due to the pandemic. The dress could have been sent to Israel, but the three-piece creation also had to be altered to fit the contestant. This is why Viktória had no choice but to order a Zara dress online.
Now, she talked to Fókusz about the challenges and how she felt about the unfortunate situation. She said that she should not even talk about what had happened because her contract includes a clause that forbids her from talking about the organising of the competition. Now, she could lose her title and her crown, but she wants to speak out and let people know what had happened. “I couldn’t speak, and it’s like they have their finger at your neck, and they’re always pushing you down. It’s a terrible feeling when I really put in 200%, I was just trying to represent a country,” she said.
Many people made fun of her and blamed her, not realising that the full responsibility was not hers. Other pageants had a team, make-up artists, stylists, and took many suitcases for the event. Jázmin had to take care of everything. The Hungarian organisers bought her only her plane ticket, but all other costs, including paying for the luggage, was her issue to deal with.
She signed up for the competition a day before and was crowned Miss Universe Hungary the following day. For the international round, others had enough time to prepare, while the Hungarian girl only had three weeks. The model says that nobody respects her now. Even when she was at the airport on her way to the contest, the organisers sent her a picture of her ticket. She found out at the airport that she had to pay extra fees for her luggage. And she paid for all other costs, too.
She says it is not about the dress but about letting her down. She chose and bought a Zara dress as the last resort. She even wanted to give up and not participate, but the organisers insisted that she take part in the contest. She is now speaking out on the issues she faced because she thinks the same could happen to others as well.
It’s just a cattle show. Nothing to get excited about.
Who can possibly care about this cheap story? Better write about high prices in Budapest or the best cake as always… Joke
Is anyone, apart from the named participant, really worrying about all this? There are bigger things going on in the world at the moment. I don’t think anyone’s concerned on where a dress was bought, and if her title gets taken away, what’s the big deal. Can hardly call it an achievement in life.
Please leave her alone she do the best she can even in a cheep dress 👗 she wins and she wins because she is beautiful she don’t need a expensive dress and all she do it by herself she is a brave and strong woman that it
Did she win the Miss. Universe Beauty contest or was she just a contestant in the pagent. Big difference!!!!
Non story of the year
