Budapest, September 12 (MTI) – The 11th Jameson CineFest Film Festival of Miskolc (NE Hungary) starting on Friday will feature some of the best new films from the Cannes, Berlin and Sundance film festivals, as well as Hungarian premieres.
In addition to more than 200 films, the programme also features masterclasses on film editing and cinematography, podium discussions on documentaries and concerts.
The competition of feature films will include Sundance main-prize-winning Whiplash, as well as Cannes award-winners Force Majeure and Mommy. Three of the twenty films in competition will be Hungarian, including Free Entry about the Sziget Festival, For Some Inexplicable Reason about a trip to Lisbon by a young man finding it hard to fit into the world of adults, and the animation feature Manieggs – Revenge of the Hard Egg.
The programme will also include a competition of 13 documentaries, 33 shorts and 19 animations.
In the international selection, special focus has been placed on new films from Spain, France and India.
All CineFest screenings and events will be free of charge and all films in the competition programme as well as in the out of competition “Open Eye” section will be shown with English subtitles.
