Guest nights at commercial and private accommodations in Hungary rose by an annual 11 percent to 2.1 million in January, with the number of guests rising by 10 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday. That is good news for Hungarian tourism.
The number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers rose by 8.9 percent, while those spent by foreign visitors rose by 12 percent.
The number of guest nights at commercial accommodations, which gave 74 percent of the total, grew by an annual 9.6 percent. Nights spent at private and other accommodations grew by 13 percent year on year.
