HVG.hu reports that Attila Pacsay’s work for Péter Gárdos’s film called Fever at Dawn (Hajnali láz) was chosen as the best at the International Music Film Festival in Parma.
Péter Gárdos’s Fever at Dawn brought great successes at the festival: the Hungarian film’s music, made by Attila Pacsay, was awarded and chosen best off 31 entries, while László Seregi, cameraman also won the award for cameramen. The event was held on September 19-25 in Parma.
Pacsay is an internationally acknowledged composer, who used to compose music for animation films, including the Oscar-nominated Maestro, a Hungarian film. His first work for American cinema was done in 2013, for Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, which starred Gena Rowlands and was photographed by Vilmos Zsigmond.

The film was based on the true story of Gárdos’s parents, how they met and fell in love. It is therefore a romantic film showing how the passionate desire to live can get people through horrible events in post-World War II Sweden.
It was also based on the novel – with the same title – which was released in 2010, and ever since that has been translated to 30 languages. Furthermore, it won the award for Best Drama at the Cinequest film festival in San José, and the audience award for drama at the Los Angeles Jewish film festival.
