Index.hu writes that LOVE, the latest animated film of Réka Bucsi (Symphony no.42) is running to win the short film category of the European Film Academy’s European Film Awards.
The European Film Academy – and its 3000 members – acknowledges the best works of the European film industry every year in 22 categories: this year a Hungarian entry is included in the short film category, which was previously won by Bálint Kenyeres and his film Before Dawn in 2006. Another Hungarian, Attila Till was also nominated in the category earlier.
LOVE will hit the screens of public television and will be featured as the accompanying film of The Red Turtle in cinemas in January 2017. The world premiere of LOVE was held at the Berlinale Shorts in February, then had its North American debut at the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW), while the Asian audience welcomed the animated film for the first time in Hong Kong.

Furthermore, the number of international festival invitations for the Hungarian-French animation is close to 100 now, and it has collected 10 awards so far, including the award for Best First Animation at Primanima, or the Macskássy Gyula Award, thanks to audience votes. LOVE also won the Cartoon d’Or qualification at the Segovia festival in Spain in October, which is regarded as the Oscar for animated films.
The 29th European Film Awards will be held in Wroclaw, Poland on December 10, 2016, and can be followed at the official site of the Awards. Below you can also watch the trailer for LOVE.
