Huge success: Hungarian professionals rock at Euroskills competition

Congratulations to #Hungarian professionals, you are the 4th best in #Europe!

As Szeretlekmagyarország.hu reports, Hungarian participants reached great results at the Euroskills competition, organized in Budapest this year.

We have already reported about the prestigious professional skills competition, Euroskills, which is organized in an Eastern European country for the first time. It was Viktor Orbán who gave a speech at the official opening ceremony of the contest.

The Euroskills competition is organized for young European people under the age of 25 and stands as a spectacular promotion of both traditional and modernized professions. During the competition, European talents come together after having been selected at the skills competitions in their home countries. Therefore, only the best have the chance to show their skills and talents at the final of the competition, which was organized in Budapest this year.

Hungarians’ performance was outstanding: we have won three gold, three silver and three bronze medals in the various categories.

The three gold medals were the following: the mechatronics team of Kristóf Balázs Sipos and Zoltán Takács, Ádám János Nagy in the category of joinery, and Krisztián Simon in cabinetmaking.

The Swiss Daniel Gerber became the best professional in Europe, although most medals were earned by the Russian team. Austria was second, and France ended up in third place in the overall rankings of the medal table.

According to László Parragh, president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hungary has once again proven that we have valuable professionals to offer in traditional professions and in ones that require modern knowledge as well.

He added: the performance of the Hungarian team is significant in terms of Hungarian industrial development, and it is worth investing in Hungary because we have valuable professional knowledge.

The Euroskills competition was organized between 26-28 September, with the inclusion of 37 professions from 28 countries, showcasing 525 competitors and 500 experts altogether, attracting more than 100,000 visitors. Let us hope that the great results of the competition will be a motivating force to keep our young professionals in the country, which is currently a huge problem, yet to be solved by the government.
