Budapest, January 13 (MTI) – It would be impolite and a mistake were Prime Minister Viktor Orban to refuse to accept the Russian president’s invitation to pay a visit to Moscow, the government’s spokesman told MTI on Monday, in reaction to criticism of the upcoming visit by LMP.
Andras Giro-Szasz said that it was very important that Orban and Vladimir Putin should review the past year’s economic results.
He noted that Orban is scheduled to pay a working visit to Moscow on Tuesday at Putin’s invitation.
On Sunday, opposition party LMP issued a statement condemning the visit on its supposition that Orban would be negotiating on the expansion of Hungary’s sole nuclear power plant at Paks, before holding any public or professional consultations on the matter.
