Budapest, October 19 (MTI) – Green opposition party LMP has accused the farm ministry of “lying” in its claim that protected areas are not a part of sales of state land.
In a statement on Monday, LMP lawmaker Benedek R Sallai said land that falls under European Union Natura2000 protected areas are among plots listed for sale on the national land management’s website.
He noted that several government members and the state secretary in charge of the sales had made the promise that no protected lands would be sold off.
LMP calls on the government to “stop playing with natural resources in common ownership, especially protected areas,” he said.
