Budapest is known for being one of the cheapest cities in Europe when it comes to alcohol. It is easy on the pocket but not on the head. But where do you go to get the said cheap drinks? Everybody knows Szimpla and the other touristy bars. But not everybody knows about these cute indie bars.
1. CORVINUS 32
This bar is located in the Jewish district at the beginning of Dohany Street and is underestimated for its capabilities. It has some of the best cocktails and some great offers on 1+1. They also have another branch on Wesselényi Street.
2. UDVAR ROM
Udvar Rom is the go-to drinking place for literally every pre-gamer who is broke. Located near Wesselényi Street and surrounded by clubs like Doboz, Udvar Rom checks all the boxes you have for an ideal night out.
3. FÜGE UDVAR
If you loved the idea of the previous one, then you are going to love this one. It is literally the next-door neighbour of the first one. The only thing they do better then Udvar Rom is that they have more space. Everything else is fairly comparable, but the Vodka Soda is worth it.
4. THE GRUND
I went there last year on my birthday, and honestly, it is one of the best places to drink. It is spacious with an outdoor seating, an indoor seating, and an inner outdoor seating area. The whole place is so lively and yet secluded. The only negative that I can think of is that it is probably a bit far off from the thick of the party. It is at Corvin which can be some ways from your regular party spots. But if you are willing to forego that, the place is a solid 10.
5. Fahéj
This one is for the early nighters. It closes early and if you are looking for a quick drink or trying to make it to a party just slightly tipsy, this is the place to be. They have cheap drinks, tables to reserve, board games, and a great grungy ambience to it. Plus, it is at Astoria, so it is not much farther from all your party spots as it is right in the city centre.
