Budapest (MTI) – Budapest Airport, which operates the capital’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport, expects passenger numbers to hit a new record of more than exceed 9 million by mid-December, business daily Napi Gazdasag said on Friday.
Citing the airport’s communications director Mihaly Hardy, the paper said passenger numbers rose by 7.2 percent in January-October from a year earlier.
In 2011, 8.9 million passenger passed through the airport at a time when former Hungarian flag-carrier Malev was still operating, Hardy said.
