The Hungarian police successfully arrested the man who attacked police officers and soldiers on May 22 at the Fonyód Police Station, the head of the Central Chief Prosecution Office of Investigation said. A few days later, a drug gang was shut down.
On May 22, the Fonyód Police Headquarters wanted to check the identity of a man in Balatonfenyves. The man had no documents; he claimed to have come from Syria. He resisted police action, so the police handcuffed him. The man then sought medical attendance from the police officers, who removed his handcuffs.
Then, the man attacked the police officers and a soldier.
He fought against them with his hands and feet, but he could not withstand the force for long. The three police officers were lightly injured. The man was arrested for violence against an officer. The case was taken to the Kaposvár District Court, writes origo.hu.
The biggest success of the week was the joint work of three Hungarian police forces when they busted a drug distribution network. The police raid can be summarised as follows:
three counties, 16 locations, 1 criminal organisation.
Police officers from Csongrád-Csanád, Bács-Kiskun, and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok Counties worked together during the raid. During the unified police raid, property, cash, drugs, and a high-value car, worth a total of almost HUF 75 million, were also seized, writes police.hu. A total of 16 sites were searched simultaneously in the 3 counties. Both drug distributors and consumers were apprehended at various locations. There were raids in Szeged, Hódmezővásárhely, Kistelek, Szolnok, and Kiskunhalas as well. According to current information,
the drug network was established by a 30-year-old man from Szeged in November 2020.
The man’s companion was his girlfriend, two sisters, and an acquaintance. Together, they distributed the drug they had obtained from a man in Szolnok. The women were in charge of portioning and packaging, while the men were selling the drug at the agreed-upon location and time. During the process, police seized hundreds of grams of crystals, marijuana, and the equipment needed to weigh and package them. In addition, HUF 74 million in cash, gold jewellery, and a Porsche Panamera were also seized.
The six alleged perpetrators were arrested and detained by the Hungarian police. Criminal proceedings were initiated against them for the well-founded suspicion of drug trafficking. Check out the police raid below!
