Survey: Fidesz retains lead in polls

Which poll can you believe? Here they report a strong Fidesz majority:

Across the whole voter base the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance has a “convincing, 12 percentage point lead” over the opposition Tisza Party, pollster Magyar Társadalomkutató said on Monday, citing its latest survey.

According to Társadalomkutató’s report, 38 percent of voting age adults would support the ruling parties, while Tisza would garner 26 percent, if elections were held next weekend. The pollster added that the ruling parties’ lead was somewhat smaller, 8 percentage points, among decided voters.

Based on feedback from politically active respondents, the radical Mi Hazank and satirical Two-Tailed Dog parties would clear beside Fidesz-KDNP and Tisza the parliamentary threshold with a 6 percent support each.

The poll was conducted on a representative sample of 1,000 people between November 19-22.

  1. As the Forint is disappearing into oblivion, but it looks, according to this article, the public is still backing this short of IQ Orbán’s cronies.
The Forint should have been changed to Euros, before Slovakia and well before Croatia did.
The Nation’s smart thinking been changed or effected by the long Soviet occupation.

  2. Changing to the Euro would remove the government’s ability to gerrymander the exchange rate for its own benefit. They’re in control to inflate or deflate their currency at will, something they no doubt call ‘sovereignity’ to pursue their own monetary policy, which might even be true in a normal country.

  3. The value of the forint only makes a difference when exchanging currency. The value of the Canadian dollar is always kept below the value of the US dollar because it helps with exports and tourism.
