Hungarian company proudly advertises that it is homophobic

A Hungarian company's website simply states in its description that they are proud to be homophobic. #hungary #dailynewshungary #homophobe

Readers have drawn the attention of Telex staff to the fact that a Hungarian company’s website, boraszatisegedanyag.hu, simply states in its description that they are proud to be homophobic.

“We are proud that as a company representing Christian-conservative-national-homophobic values, we are free from all immoral, hateful, anti-human and anti-life liberal-communist ideologies,” reads the official website of the company that sells auxiliary materials for oenology. This is not a joke.

This could even be a message that was posted on the website without the knowledge of M.C. Kereskedelmi Iroda Kft., the website’s operator, which deals in wine treatment materials, auxiliaries, tools and accessories. It could be the work of a hacker or a web developer in a “funny” mood, but that is not the case.

Telex was able to reach the company on the phone number provided on the website. A man answered the phone and told them the following:

  • this value proposition has been deliberately listed on boraszatisegedanyag.hu for about a year,
  • the company’s position is that the inscription is a way of distancing itself from “liberal Nazi aggression”,
  • in the wine industry, some companies have joined a pro-LGBTQ campaign and so they responded with the above-quoted inscription,
  • also, “homosexuality is the greatest sin”.

By now, the official website of the company cannot be reached. What might be the reason for this?

  1. All people should be respected, their preferred sex/gender should not be a factor. Companies’ main goal is to provide good service and make money for the shareholders not to play stupid games.

  2. @mvt fully agreed that Companies shall provide good services and make profit. However high ethical level (included but not limited to diversity and inclusion) shall be kept by all companies.
