Since July 1, the rules and possibilities of travelling to Hungary have changed. The Europen Union immunity certificate is available for free in both digital and paper form since then. In this article we bring you a video which summarizes the essential information that you need to know when travelling to Hungary.
The EU Card certifies that you have either received a vaccine against Covid-19, had a negative test result, or recovered from Covid-19. The EU certificate and its power is equivalent to the immunity certificate issued by the Hungarian government.
If you want to visit any mass event in Hungary, you need proof of immunity, which can be attested by one of the following documents:
- the immunity certificate issued by the Hungarian government,
- Hungarian smart device application called EESZT,
- any immunity certificate issued abroad and officially recognised by the Hungarian government, or
- the EU digital Covid certificate.
Under the new regulations (after reaching 5,5 million administered coronavirus vaccines), the holders of any of the above certificates are exempt from previous restrictions in leisure facilities, hospitality and catering businesses and accomodation establishments.
The wearing of masks is now only mandatory on the premises of health care and social institutions.
