Budapest, September 5 (MTI) – About 4,500 illegal migrants were taken to the Austrian border from Budapest and elsewhere last night, state secretary of the interior Karoly Kontrat told a press conference.
The government’s operative staff, which is in session, concluded that the situation at Budapest’s Keleti railway station allows westbound rail services to be restored, Andras Giro-Szasz, state secretary for government communication, said.
International train services returned to normal at 9am, state railways MAV spokeswoman Virag Locsei said.
